Learn how to use diagonal cut monogram detail to enhance your photo and your story. Objective: Use Text Shapes and the Straight Edge Cutter to create a decorative border for your pages.

Video Notes:

- - Add a photo to the page
    - Size the photo to make the width the full width of the page
    - The height can be as desired
    - Zoom in and position the photo in the frame
      - Make sure that the pertinent detail of the photo is to one side of the photo frame
  - Go to Insert> Text> Shape
    - Type and format desired letter
    - Position the Text shape over the portion of the photo without pertinent detail
    - Make the height of the Text Shape the full height of the photo
    - Fill with solid color (you will have the option to change the color at a later time)
    - Click Create
  - Go to Insert> Content> Shape> Rectangle
    - Make the height of the rectangle 1 inch higher than the top of the photo and 1 inch lower than the bottom of the photo
    - Make the width of the rectangle at least 1 inch wider than the Text Shape
    - Remove the Stroke
    - Click Create
    - Go to the Elements Panel and position the rectangle under the Text Shape
    - Adjust the position, if necessary
  - Hold down the Shift Key and select all three elements (Text Shape, photo and rectangle)
    - Go to Cut> Cutters> Straight> Straight Edge
    - In the Operations Panel, adjust the Angle 20 - 30 degrees
      - Make note of the angle used as you will need to know it for a future step
    - Position the cutter across the Text Shape
    - Keep both areas
    - Cut
  - Delete the portion of the rectangle covering the non-pertinent portion of the photo
    - Select the remaining portion of the rectangle
      - Go to Cut> Cutters> Straight> Straight Edge
      - In the Operations Panel, adjust the Angle to the same angle used in the previous cut (20-30 degrees)
      - Position the cutter approximately 1 inch inside the remaining portion of the rectangle
      - Keep the appropriate area
      - Cut
      - Copy and paste the remaining strip
        
        Position the strip offset to the original strip
      - Hold down the Shift key and select both strips
        
        Drag both strips to the bottom of the Elements Panel
  - Fill all elements except the pertinent portion of the photo with your desired fill
  - Select both pieces of the Text Shape
    - Right click> Flatten
    - Apply a Shadow to the Text Shape
