Washi tape is all the rage and it adds fun detail to your page. It is also hip to be square. In just a few moments, you can have a stylish page waiting for you to tell your story. Objective: Use the Straight Cutters (Straight Edge and Paper Rip) to create a quick and easy page layout.

Video Notes:

- - Insert> Content> Shape> Rectangle
    - Make the Size 5 x 12
    - Set the stroke to "None"
    - Click Create
  - Position the rectangle in the upper right of the page
  - With the rectangle selected, go to Cut> Cutters> Straight> Straight edge (Flatten if prompted)
    - Position the cutter down the center of the rectangle
    - Keep both areas
    - Cut

Creating Washi

- - Insert> Content> Shape> Rectangle
    - Optional: Change the color so it is easier to see
    - Make the Size 1 x 11
    - Remove the Stroke
    - Click Create
  - Position the rectangle along the left side of the left strip/rectangle
  - With the washi strip selected, go to Cut> Cutters> Straight> Paper Rip (Flatten if prompted)
    - Set rip reveal to 0
    - Adjust Rip type and Rip irregularity as desired
    - Put the cut guides close together
    - Position the cutter at the top of the washi strip/rectangle
      - Tilt/rotate as desired
    - Keep the appropriate area and Cut
    - Repeat for the bottom of the washi strip/rectangle
  - With the washi strip/rectangle selected, go to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)
    - Reduce the opacity of the strip to approximately 70
  - Select the rectangle with the washi attached to it (left rectangle).
    - Go to Format> Shadows> Custom
      - Select the preset light shadow that points to the left
      - (Note: light shadows are the white arrows)

Add photo holders

- - Insert> Photos> Empty Frame
    - Default frame should be a 4 x 4 square
      - If your photo holder is not a 4 x 4 square, use the QAT to make both the width and height 4 inches
    - Repeat to add a second photo holder of the same size
  - Insert> Photos>Empty frame
    - Use the QAT to make the photo holder larger than the others
      - Recommended size 4.5 - 5 inches
      - Make both the width and height the same size to maintain the square aspect ratio
  - Fill photo holders with photos
  - Fill shapes with papers
    - If you fill your background and/or strips with heavily patterned paper, you should use a solid color to fill the washi strip
      - Filling all of the shapes and the washi with heavily patterned paper will cause the patterns to compete with each other
    - If you use lightly patterned or solid papers, fill your washi tape with heavily patterned paper
  - Add a background
  - Add a title and journaling
