A Forgotten Film Became a Family Treasure

I had a film reel that my mother gave me years ago – one I didn’t know existed, or what was even on it. When she handed it to me, I had no way to play it. So, I sent it to FOREVER to be digitized.
When I got it back and watched it for the first time, I cried all the way through. My parents were young. My grandparents were young. And I was the baby in someone’s arms.
I shared the digitized video with my kids, and they were full of questions – wanting to know who the people were. They had never seen my grandparents when they were young.
Then something really special happened. For Mother’s Day, my daughter took clips from that digitized video – scenes of me as a baby – and made a video about what I mean to her. I uploaded the video she made into my FOREVER account, because it means so much to me.
To me, FOREVER means my photos and my stories will live on – not just for the next generation, but for the generations after that. And that’s really important to me.
An excerpt from the video that Karen's daughter made with the digitized film reel.
