Move Artisan 6 to a New Computer with No Stress!
By FOREVER Ā ā¢Ā December 23, 2025
New computer for the holidays? š Whether it was a long-planned upgrade or a surprise under the tree, thereās one big question we hear every year: āHow do I move ArtisanĀ® 6 to my new computer?ā
The good news: you donāt need to start over ā and you donāt need to panic. With a little prep, you can move Artisan and all your creative work safely and smoothly.
Start with a quick backup (this is the most important part)
Before you do anything else, take a few minutes to back up the things you care about most:
- Your Artisan projects
- Your digital art kits
- Your activation codes
These live in a few key folders on your current computer. Copy them to an external drive or secure storage so theyāre ready to move when you are.
š FOREVER has a clear, step-by-step guide that shows you exactly what to back up and where to find it:
š Moving Artisan to a New Computer
Install Artisan on the new computer
Once your files are backed up:
- Download and install ArtisanĀ® 6 on your new computer
- Sign in with the email address associated with your Artisan purchase
- Allow Artisan a few moments to update its database (this is normal)
After that, you can copy your saved projects and art kits onto the new machine and reconnect them inside Artisan.
Bring your creativity back to life
When your folders are in place and your activation codes are entered, Artisan should look familiar again ā your projects, your content, your creative flow ā just on a faster, newer computer.
No re-creating. No lost work.
