Why We Do What We Do: A Client Story

By Kathy Lanham

I have a client named Traci who shared a truly precious and touching story with me. I first met her at a vendor fair in South Carolina. While we were chatting about FOREVER Digitization, she said, “I have to do this,” and immediately purchased a Small Box.

At the time, I expected her to send in two tapes. Instead, she surprised me by filling the box with ten tapes! “A variety of tapes, to see what I’d get,” Traci said.

After her digitization order was completed, Traci messaged me and said, “This is the best thing I have ever done for myself.” A few days later, we ended up video chatting, and I asked her which digitized memories meant the most to her.

“Well, first – my wedding video,” she said. “Even though we’re divorced now, both of our parents (who have since passed away) were on that tape. But another one of the tapes was really special. It’s of my daughter, who was born weighing only one pound. I have a video of the first time I held her in the hospital, and she opened her eyes for the first time. The nurses called her a ‘fireball’ because she was so feisty."

Traci and Kathy discussed Traci's favorite digitized memories (including the video of her daughter opening her eyes for the first time) over a video call.

"Now, my daughter's 25. Watching all those videos brought back so many memories and took me right back to that moment. It really lets you see how much she’s grown as a person, and how the Lord was always right there.”
