Important Historian Security Update
By FOREVER • October 1, 2026
On October 1, 2026, FOREVER® implemented important security enhancements across our systems to help protect our clients and their memories.
Current Historian 6 Users
Before accessing your software, please log in to your FOREVER account again. Then, download and install the latest version of your software from:
Current versions released October 1, 2026:
• Historian 6: 6.3.5.5
After installation, open your software as usual and sign in using your FOREVER account credentials.
🔒 Once complete, you'll be back up and running with our latest security enhancements.
Troubleshooting Tip: If you're still having trouble signing in after updating, try restarting your computer and make sure Windows is updated to the latest available version.
Thank you for helping us keep FOREVER safer than ever! 💙
Historian 4 Users
Because Historian™ 4 is now more than 20 years old, it cannot support these new security requirements. As a result, several FOREVER-connected features in Historian 4 are no longer available.
What Changed?
On October 1, users are no longer able to:
• Print from Historian 4
• Activate Historian 4 on a new or different computer
• Upload photos or projects from Historian 4 to a FOREVER Account
• Download photos from a FOREVER Account into Historian 4
If Historian 4 is already installed on your computer, it may continue to function locally, but these connected features are discontinued.
Upgrade to Historian 6
With Historian 6, you'll enjoy:
• Improved Facial Recognition
• Enhanced Auto Fix tools
• A redesigned connection to your FOREVER Account
• The ability to share photos to Artisan® 6
• Recognition of files stored in FOREVER
• Enhanced security
Protect Your Memories for the Long Term
This update is also a reminder that memories stored on a single computer remain vulnerable to hard drive failures, accidental deletion, cyber threats, and changing technology.
While Historian helps you create and organize your memories, FOREVER Storage provides a secure, permanent digital home for them, with professional management and triple backup protection designed to preserve your memories for generations.
Whether you choose Historian 6, FOREVER Storage, or both, now is the perfect time to ensure your photos, projects, and family history remain protected for the future.
